OUR CHURCH

 

     St. Mary's Malankara Syriac Orthodox Church is incorporated as St Marys Malankara Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, a non-profit organization registered under the state of Texas and  under the Malankara Archdiocese of Syriac Orthodox Church in North America.

     The St. Mary’s Malankara Syriac Orthodox Church came in to existence with the first service in November 1977 by Late Rev. Fr. Dr. John Jacob(His Grace Yuhanon MOR Philoxenos).Our members are predominantly Indian immigrants and their successors .Over the years the church saw growth in members and spiritual activities.

        At our parish, we have several ministries (spiritual organizations) that are closely directed to respective age groups in order to spiritually help each and every member to grow in the Body of Christ. Few of the ministries are the following: Sunday School (SS) – helping children to understand the root of Orthodoxy and building their faith in Jesus Christ and her Church; Mar Gregorios Syriac Orthodox Student Association (MGSOSA) – helping young people of today to become the leaders of tomorrow through the total experience of worship, study and service, both in the Church and the Community; St.Pauls Mens League & St.Marys Womens League –spiritually strengthening each men & woman of the parish through intercessory prayers, communal support, as well as helping them to take different roles as in organizing charitable events.
